While preparing my latest online business campaign, and internally debating my attraction marketing strategies, I had a simple yet extremely meaningful realisation. I am working on a new marketing funnel, and establishing the various steps that my new partners will navigate through before coming out at the end, qualifying themselves as a ‘true potential partner’. Anyone with a network marketing business will appreciate the value in this pre-qualifying process, which not only allows me to create a connection with my prospects, share content and show them who I am, but also save me from carrying out many pointless conversations with not-to-be-partners. So while trying to determine exactly what I wanted to pre-qualify my prospects on, and what I wanted to find out about them, I realised that one of the main questions I really wanted to ask is this: ‘Are you like me?’.
‘Are you like me?’ is the question I ask through my marketing funnel, because I want to establish whether my new prospects have what it takes to succeed in my online business. And reversely, attraction marketing works because both my prospect and I are asking the same question to each other. They too, want to know if I am like them.
So where do I want to draw this critical line of resemblance between me and my prospects? Firstly, I want to determine their resemblance with my personal attributes, which pushed me to take the leap into the world of online entrepreneurship, and which are the reasons why I am creating success for myself. There are some vital attributes here to be confirmed in my prospects, around their level of desire, their commitment to success and abundance, their readiness to take action, their mindset. I want to know: ‘Are you like me, when I started looking for a solution?’. Burning for a change, committed, ready, strong, success-minded, serious, eager to learn, ambitious, driven, and determined? (And maybe a little anxious.)
Then, I want to assess how we connect through our direction. Where are they going? What do they want? How big are their dreams and goals? What are their standards for success? Will they be successful? Will they give up? Will they grow? Will they contribute? Will they lead? The question is: ‘Will you, like me, do what it takes to achieve the high standards you have set out for yourself?’.
And my message to my prospects is simple: If you are not like me, if we are not like-minded, a partnership through my online business opportunity is unlikely. Needless to say, if you feel confused, lazy, unmotivated, indifferent, settled, satisfied, faint-hearted or indisposed, there is no need for us to talk. For now. But maybe later, when things have changed for you! But for now, I will strategically place a few exits through my marketing funnel, so that you can let me know before I call, and save both our very precious time.

Hi Justine,
this us a great post. I also believe that it’s crucial to pre-qualify people in the process of prospecting. It doesn’t make much sense to introduce people to my business if I’m not yet sure that I want to have them on my team. Thanks fpr sharing this insight.
Take care

Wow Justine – I loved this post… its fabulous and a great example of reversed marketing; just the way it should be
We are the CEO of our very own company so time is precious, and therefore, pre-qualitying people is absolutely critical.
Thanks so much for sharing as always – you always contribute so much and are clearly dedicated to both your business and making a difference for others.

Hey Justine,
This is such a powerful post. Awesome stuff here. Mindset is key, and qualifying is essential!
I’m sure we’re in the same boat interviewing people before they can get into our business. I mean heck, I enjoy working with people I get along with! lol
