Leaders teach, guide, inspire.

Leaders go to the front of the line, because they know they have something they can teach, someone they can guide, and qualities they can inspire by.

Anyone can be a leader, and the onset of leadership can be set at any time, based on 3 simple questions criteria:

  1. Is there something I can teach?
  2. Is there someone I can guide?
  3. Can I inspire others through my insight, my actions, my very own inspiration?

I love that there is always an opportunity to be a leader, become everyone will always be a few steps ahead from someone else. And the perception that one must be an expert, a king, a millionaire or a superstar to become a leader is disconcerting. How are people meant to become leaders, if they must achieve those statuses beforehand? How can one become a successful leader, if success requires leadership in the first place?

In the world of online entrepreneurship and network marketing, leadership is not an option. And leadership doesn’t come from success, it CAUSES it. Ever heard of the Be-Do-Have principle? BE a leader, DO what the leaders do, and THEN, you can HAVE what the leaders have!

Yes, opportunities to lead abound, for every individual willing and driven to take action. As network marketers and online entrepreneurs, the more we seek to inspire, to teach and to guide, the more we must learn. And as our knowledge, mindset and skills grow, so does our ability to be a great leader. Lead, Learn, Grow, Lead. This sequence repeated indefinitely keeps us at the front of the line, consistently moving closer to becoming the expert, the king, the millionaire, the superstar, or simply the most successful and inspirational leader we can be.

To only right time to become a leader is now. Not a leader in everything. Just a leader in what you know, what you experience, what you learn, what you do, what you think, what you feel, what inspires you, and what works for you. Share it, teach it.

  1. Hi Justine,

you are right: Leadership doesn’t come from success, it creates success. It’s a decision. I have already taken that decision ;-) Thanks for sharing your insights.

    Take care

    Hi Oliver,
Indeed, making the decision to be a leader is the starting point of taking action. And making that decision based on GOALS as opposed to results is so much more powerful!

  3. Love the graphic!! How true it is, we teach what we need to learn most. My experience w/leadership has taught me many a valuable lesson. The best one being that I know that whatever I find myself delivering to others is exactly what I need to hear – at a different level. We just keep peeling back layers of the onion don’t we. Here’s to growth!!

  4. Hi there Justine! One more important thing a leader should have….”Confidence” of oneself towards himself/herself in order to have an efficient leadership. Nice article about leadership by the way. Thanks.

    Hi Keith,
I agree, we need to have confidence in our own ability to rise, in leadership and overall success. I always say that we must truly believe that we will achieve our outcomes – otherwise, why would we take consistent action? Confidence doesn’t need to mean that we always know exactly what we are doing, but rather that we know deeply that we will always take the necessary actions to grow and conquer the obstacles, and walk the walk to success.

  5. Hilarious, yet simple, graphic. Leadership-isn’t it ironic how everyone aspires to be a leader, yet so few actually take leadership. I am sure you can think of dozens of examples of times you were in a crowd that needed direction….yet …only slowly did someone finally step up.

We will always need leaders….great insights.

    Hi David,
So true, some people surprisingly think they can become leaders without acting like one! But it is a truly empowering realisation, when we grasp that we can become a leader at any stage of our lives, at any stage in our success journey, and create our own opportunities to learn, develop and inspire others.
Thanks so much for your comment David!

  6. Hey Justine! You’re def right. And the best part about becoming a leader is no one can decide that for you. If you decide your a leader you are, its really that simple.

Well maybe not because you still need knowledge and all that other stuff, but honestly who needs that when you have confidence haha : )

    Hi Landon,
Yes, leadership is a choice, a decision! Leadership is about action, and nobody else can do that for us! And as for the knowledge, well I think that true leaders are always inspired to learn, so that will just come naturally!

  7. Hi Justine
Such a crucial topic. To me good leadership has incredible benefits for those who are the recipients and equally for the growth, development and prosperity of the leader. I consciously stepped up to the plate of leadership as a budding 20 year old teacher decades ago. From those early days I realized that leadership was about being the example. I felt that I could never ask anyone to do anything unless I had already ‘been there and done that’ or was willing to try myself. I also came to believe that to be a true leader I had to be prepared to take sh*! and not hold grudges. A grudge kept inside acts like a poison in which case I become the loser. Overcoming means I become the winner. For me being a leader I observed that the best was coming out of me. I became more serious knowing that people are really impacted for better or worse by my leadership. Becoming a husband and parent since then has only hit that message home harder. Thanks for sharing this post, it has really stimulated me this morning to be grateful and treasure every moment I have the opportunity to do something good. Warm Regards, Paul

Thanks Paul for a great comment, and for sharing your personal experiences here! Being a leader certainly has challenges but I think the benefits experienced by the leader himself and others far outweigh those challenges!
